Throughout my life I have had two passions children and dancing.
I was always busy playing with the kids in my neighbourhood and babysitting from age 12 and always helping younger students in school. I started dancing at age 10 and continued up until now. I attended the Alberta Ballet's School of Dance and participated in the annual performance of the Nutcracker for 3 consecutive years. Not only was I dancing at a studio but also in high school and with the Youth Singers of Calgary for one year. After high school I took the opportunity to help out a family in Vancouver who had a child with Cerebal Palsy which was a great learning experience for me. I came back to Calgary and joined Arythnics Dance Studio to get back into dancing and learn new styles. After my first year I was fortunate to teach pre-school ballet and jazz. Throughout the 5 years I was with Arythincs I learned new dance styles such as jazz, modern, hip hop, lyrical, musical theatre and tap. I had so much fun and to have a hand in all aspects of the studio which has given me the experience of choreographing dances and planning each year end recital. In 2004 Arythnics closed their doors and I became pregnant! Gabrielle was born and I had an amazing 8 months with her only to have to go back to work because I was pregnant again! Due on Gabrielle's first birthday, Korbin came 1 week late and I knew at that point I wanted to stay at home with them.
Knowing how much I wanted to raise my babies and how expensive childcare is today, I searched for a way to stay home and that is how Baby Busy has developed. After the first year with my daughter and being introduced to the mom and baby world I felt like I belonged in this wonderful community and am proud to have an active part in supporting and connecting with moms and babies. In that I would like to invite all of you to join me in getting out, exposing them to the outside world, music and movement. I love watching my children experience new adventures through their eyes and would like to pass on the resources to you so that you can enjoy every moment with your children.
